About Tribal’s In Munnar
Idukki the 'spicy district' which has got its own territories with its natural heritages and secrecies is the second largest and prominent place in Kerala where the most number of scheduled tribes and tribal ambiguities exist. This beautiful High range district is geographically known for its mountainous hills and dense forests.

Almost all the scheduled tribes are living in the extreme remote hilly banks and in the deep interiors of thickly growing forests of this district. Even though a state like Kerala is well known for its high literacy rate and cultured habits, in the interior corners of this state, may be the most uncivilized "Adivasis" with their own unique culture and religio-spiritual religious regulations and customs are abiding.
Around 50269 sheduled tribe people are living in Idukki district.

Hearty Touch for Tribal’s

They like to live a secluded life fostering their own culture. Since they are in the deepest parts of the forest, they are illiterate, ignorant and very superstitions. The lack of basic centers of health, education, and other facilities stop them to know about the necessities of life.
In this situation Munnar BRC more than times took the actions, & conducted different  types of  awareness programme for tribals for the help of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan - Idukki.
